California Pacific Medical Center is one of the largest private, not-for-profit, academic medical centers in California. CPMC is part of Sutter Health, which is the largest healthcare system in Northern California, serving approximately 3 million patients across 30 hospitals. CPMC is recognized as a quaternary referral center providing advanced medical care with a patient-centered focus. The medical center has five campuses (Davies, Van Ness/Geary, Mission Bernal, California, and Pacific) located throughout the city of San Francisco, three of which have inpatient facilities with full emergency through ICU level care. There are multiple residency programs including in Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology, Psychiatry, Radiation Oncology, as well as fellowships in Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Hand Microsurgery, Transplant Hepatology, and Pulmonary Critical Care, in addition to Neurocritical Care. CPMC is also affiliated with Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and is one of the main sites where Dartmouth medical students rotate for their core clerkships including neurology.
