I welcome you to explore the opportunities offered by the CPMC Hematology/Oncology Fellowship program. What sets us apart is our attention to the individual needs and interests of trainees and how our diverse and comprehensive clinical setting and that of our collaborative partners can meet them.
As a medical center and teaching hospital, CPMC has the unique advantage of being a community hospital that serves the direct needs of our community that also provides quaternary care to the Northern California region and beyond. CPMC is a well-seasoned teaching hospital for multiple residency and fellowship programs, and as a rotation site for medical students from Dartmouth Medical School and UCSF.
Our patient population includes a variety of cultural and socioeconomic groups and age ranges, whom physicians with a high level of humanistic qualities will serve best. The clinical and educational environment and culture is collaborative, evidence-based and extremely supportive of learning as well as the maintenance of the highest level of patient care.
This is a challenging and invigorating time in medical education, and now more than ever it is important to recognize and appreciate the intersection between the medical, scientific and personal aspects of our patients and our trainees.
