Fellowship Program
Welcome to the Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Program at Sutter Roseville Medical Center, dedicated to shaping the next generation of cardiologists through comprehensive training in all facets of cardiovascular medicine and clinical research. This fellowship is a new addition to SRMC's extensive graduate medical education program, which encompasses multiple medical specialties.
Our program is designed to equip fellows with the contemporary knowledge and advanced clinical skills necessary to excel in the field. Spanning across two prominent medical centers, Sutter Roseville Medical Center (SRMC) and Sutter Medical Center Sacramento (SMCS), our fellowship offers an enriched training environment. Combined, these facilities boast over 900 beds and provide a full spectrum of cardiovascular services. This includes performing 900+ cardiac surgeries annually, offering extensive coronary and structural heart interventions, advanced heart failure therapies such as transplants and ventricular assist devices, cutting-edge cardiac electrophysiology procedures, advanced cardiac imaging, and specialized care for adult congenital heart disease.
SRMC is not only recognized as one of California's top hospitals but also serves as the hub of a large graduate medical education program across multiple specialties. SRMC is a very high volume (highest in the Sutter system) regional STEMI receiving center that has been the vanguard of STEMI care in our region and in California. SMCS holds prestigious certifications including Comprehensive Cardiac Center certification by the Joint Commission, making it one of only two such centers in the Western United States. Additionally, SMCS is accredited by the Adult Congenital Heart Association (ACHA), one of only two such accredited clinics in Northern California. SMCS is also recognized as the largest advanced heart failure program in the area and the only heart transplant program between San Francisco and Oregon.
Throughout their training, fellows will collaborate closely with a diverse team of experienced cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and vascular surgeons, alongside our esteemed core faculty. This collaborative approach ensures a robust learning experience and prepares fellows for board certification and a career in high-level clinical cardiovascular medicine.
As part of the Sutter Health network, our program addresses the growing demand for cardiologists in Northern California. Graduates emerge well-prepared to meet regional healthcare needs, becoming integral members of the cardiovascular medicine workforce.
We invite you to join us at Sutter Roseville Medical Center, where excellence in cardiovascular care meets the future of cardiology practice.
